Photo Diary: My Bangkok Trip + Haul

3/12/2016 11:09:00 pm

Hi everyone! I took so long (again) to write this blog post but hey I already told you all that hahaha I'm currently sec 4 and it's my O levels!! (And um no I totally didn't forget about this blog post after I left it in my drafts..... Ha ha....) I got back my results for my CAs recently, which weren't ideal... I don't know why I study so hard everyday yet still don't see results :( I was quite depressed as I wanted to use my marks to DSA to my dream school but I guess I have to work even harder for Mid Years
then!

Anyways, back to this blog post, I went to Bangkok, Thailand from 8-12 December and it was my 3rd time going there.  I always love going to Bangkok as it is like a shopping paradise and the people in Bangkok are so hospitable to tourists! :)

Before reading the rest of my blog post, check out my Bangkok Haul!

Day 1

We landed in Suvarnabhumi  Airport around evening time and was stuck in heavy traffic till night time so for the first day we just walked around Siam Square where our hotel was.

My family tried this recommended Thai restaurant called Intel also in Siam. Although the design of the restaurant doesn't look fantastic, the food was delicious! My sister and I ate a lot of pork fried rice during our holiday in Bangkok hahaha

My family opted to stay in a junior suite at Novotel and when I first heard that I thought it'll be super luxurious with a sofa and separate rooms and everything but I was so wrong hahaha there was a small lounge area and then another space for the master bed but there were no doors.

A major plus of being in a suite room is that we had access to the premium lounge where there was a small buffet for all 3 meals. The environment there was so cozy and high-class! And we had our supper there :)

Day 2

While walking to Platinum Mall we saw this artistic 'Journey of 999 elephants'!

And this cute Hello Kitty Christmas Tree OMG!!

My mum and I, the Hello Kitty lovers haha

And of course, my family and I had a blast shopping! My mum and I bought a lot of clothes!!!

SHOPPING PARADISE~

Platinum Mall has always been my favourite but honestly, this time round I was quite disappointed.
I think it's because I went to Bangkok with a lot of high expectations to buy a massive load of clothes immediately as I stepped into Platinum mall haha. But in the end I really bought A LOT of clothes, so I don't even know why I'm not fully satisfied hahaha. Sadly, I didn't get to buy any dresses or high heels too :(

Ate pork fried rice for dinner here!

When night came, my parents went to Mango Tango, a highly raved Mango Sticky Rice restaurant.   I didn't want to eat it but because my family consists of 5 people (1 baby brother), the waitress said that we have to order at least 3 dishes to get a table of 4. At this point I was a bit annoyed as I felt like they are bullying us to pay more since we are tourists so I told my mum I'll rather wait at the waiting area. And guess what? In the end my parents and baby brother sat at a table of 4 so it took up the same number of seats in the restaurant. How ridiculous hahaha.

Day 3

My brother bathing in the sink, too cute!!!

The complimentary breakfast buffet was too crowded so my family and I went down to the Premium Lounge.

Next, we went to the Hello Kitty House! My parents didn't want to buy the desserts they sell as they were sold at exorbitant prices and in their opinion, didn't taste that nice. I thought the food was okay and pretty cute actually.

My mother and I spent a lot of money here hahaha it's all worth it!!!

They sold the polo tees at different prices based on the colours haha

The previous time I was here I bought a pink Hello Kitty House shirt and now it's only available in yellow hehe

One day I will get a manicure here!!!!

When we were about to leave I realised I actually dropped my mother's iPhone in this car and I nearly died, I was so scared because another family took pictures with this car after us but luckily we found it! Bless hahaha

WHAT WE BOUGHT <3

My mum actually became a member hahaha

Got some ice cream early in the morning while we were waiting for the other stores to open and frankly speaking it didn't taste that nice :/

Very aesthetic though HAHAHAHA

Shopping time again!!!

The food was very expensive but the portions were pretty big, food looks nice but some was not appetising. Do not recommend...

We went to the hotel to rest and at night we took the BTS (Bangkok Train System) to Victory Monument Night Market!

Saw this wonderful stall outside MacDonald's along the night market! The uncle handicrafts these and customise it with your name using a home made hot glue gun! Totally worth it for the price as it is one-of-a-kind, durable and I'm still using it now!

After a long but enjoyable day of shopping, my mum and I went for a Thai body massage at Chang (same as last time) and oh my gosh it was so relaxing I fell asleep!

Can you see how oversized the pajamas was?

Day 4

Our last day in Bangkok  :(

Back to platinum mall for more shopping! But first, lunch at the food court.

He's so adorable I swear <3

We shopped at the newer but smaller section of Platinum Mall

My mum, siblings and I decided to a break from shopping hahaha

We then took a Tuk Tuk, all 5 of us and a huge trolley full of our shopping managed to squeeze on board!!

It was so crowded bc of the Bike For Dad event

At night, my mum had a gathering with her friend and we went to a fusion (Thai and Western) restaurant.

When we were there, there was a HUGE Bike For Dad mass-cycling event in honour of the King's birthday and thus the streets of Bangkok were cleaner than it usually was hahaha. Sadly, because of this, my favourite Siam night market was closed so that there would be less rubbish.

One thing I really like about Bangkok is how the Thais are so courteous, even when we enter a shop and look around and leave with nothing, they still smile and say thank you. Compared to some other countries I've been to *coughs* Hong Kong *coughs* where the shop owners actually scold you if you patronise their shop and leave if you don't fancy anything. My family and I really enjoyed our holiday in Bangkok :)

  8. Awesome post, thanks for sharing. The holidays can be a magical time for families. It is a time for wonderful parties, great food, bonding, reminiscing about the past, and gift giving. Family members often travel great lengths to be together. For many people, it is the only time of year that their family is all together as one.Ferienwohnung Grächen

  9. I have been totally carried away by these beautiful pictures of yours, I love it and how I wish I could be there someday.

    Nice vacation experience.

Since you go from one shopping malls to market and other beautiful places, it's obvious you didn't have time to watch movies at all 😂.

If it was me, I would have used all the days to watch movies most especially Kdramas.

    I love your write up.
